Service Jobs and Remedial Jobs
Maintenance jobs generated from the service schedule, and remedial jobs built from what failed.
Service Jobs and Remedial Jobs
Two kinds of job come out of the systems you look after without anyone typing them: a service job when a contracted system's service falls due, and a remedial job for whatever failed on a completed job.
Service Jobs from the Schedule
Every morning at 06:50 dynamik.app creates one maintenance job for each system whose service is due within the next 30 days (or already overdue). A system qualifies when:
- it is active,
- its Contract Type is Maintenance Contract or Maintenance & Monitoring — Monitoring Only and Ad-hoc / Call Out systems are left alone,
- it has a Service Interval and a Next Service Date,
- and it has no open job already linked to it.
The job is created as type Maintenance, status Scheduled, titled Service: <system> — <project>, at 09:00 on the service date — or today, at high priority, when already overdue — with the system attached and the system type's checklists copied onto it. No engineer is assigned, so it appears in your jobs to schedule. Owners and admins receive one email listing the jobs created that morning.
Because the generated job is itself an open job on the system, the next morning does not create a second one. Update Last Service Date and Next Service Date on the system when the visit is done, and the cycle continues.
Remedial Jobs from Failed Items
When a job is completed and something on it failed, the job page shows Create remedial job. The failed items come from three places:
- checklist entries answered Fail or No,
- device tests with result Fail,
- battery checks with result Fail (shown as Battery 12V 7Ah — measured 10.4V).
Every failure is ticked by default; untick anything that does not need a visit. Create job makes a Remedial job for the same client and project, at high priority, titled Remedial: <system>, with the ticked failures and the engineer's notes written into its description and the affected systems attached. The two jobs link to each other — Remedial for JOB-123 on the new one, Remedial JOB-124 on the original.
Job Types
Every company has the job types Maintenance (routine maintenance work) and Remedial (fix faults found on a previous job) for these two flows. Both can be used by hand as well.
A service job created from the schedule records a Service entry in each system's logbook when it is completed, so the logbook and the service dates tell the same story.
