Creating a Certificate
Step-by-step guide to creating a new electrical or fire safety certificate.
Certificates can be created from the web app (managers) or the iOS engineer app. Both follow a guided flow that walks you through every section of the certificate.
From the Web App (Managers)
- 1 Navigate to Certificates in the sidebar
- 2 Click New Certificate
- 3 Select the certificate type (EIC, EICR, Minor Works, etc.)
- 4 Fill in the client and installation details
- 5 Complete the technical sections (supply characteristics, earthing, etc.)
- 6 Add any observations with the appropriate code (C1, C2, C3, FI)
- 7 Save as draft or issue immediately
From the iOS App (Engineers)
- 1 Open a job or go to Certificates from the dashboard
- 2 Tap the + button to create a new certificate
- 3 Follow the 5-step wizard:

Quick shortcut
You can create certificates directly from a job — tap the certificate shortcut on the job detail page to pre-fill the client and site address automatically.
Certificate Sections by Type
Depending on the certificate type, different sections will be available. Here is a breakdown:

Observation Codes
When recording observations (defects), use the standard classification codes:
C1 — Danger present
Risk of injury. Immediate remedial action required.
C2 — Potentially dangerous
Urgent remedial action required.
C3 — Improvement recommended
Does not comply but no immediate danger.
FI — Further investigation
Further investigation required without delay.
