Signing a Certificate

Certificates must be signed by the inspector before they can be issued to a client. dynamik.app uses a one-time digital signature system — draw your signature once, and it is saved to your profile for all future certificates.

For Engineers (iOS App)

First Time — Drawing Your Signature

The first time you tap Sign on a certificate, the app will open a full-screen signature canvas:

1 Open a certificate from your job or the certificates list
2 Tap the green Sign button in the top-right corner
3 A full-screen signature canvas opens in portrait mode
4 Use your finger to draw your signature on the canvas
5 If you make a mistake, tap Clear and start again
6 When you are happy, tap Save Signature

Your signature is now saved to your profile. You only need to do this once.

Signing Certificates After That

Once your signature is saved, signing any certificate is instant:

1 Open the certificate you want to sign
2 Tap the green Sign button
3 A confirmation dialog appears
4 Tap Sign to confirm

The inspector name, signature image, and timestamp are all recorded automatically.

Important

Once a certificate is signed, the signature cannot be removed. Make sure all details are correct before signing.

The screen locks to portrait mode so you have maximum space
Draw with your finger — no stylus needed
The canvas uses thick lines designed for touchscreen use
Tap Clear anytime to start over before saving

For Managers (Web App)

What Happens When an Engineer Signs

When an engineer signs a certificate on the iOS app, the following data is recorded:

The inspector signature image is applied to the certificate
The inspector name is recorded from the engineer's profile
A signed at timestamp is saved
The certificate PDF will include the signature in the inspector section

Viewing Signed Certificates

On the certificate detail page, you can see the signature status at a glance:

Signed

Green check mark next to "Insp" or "Client" in the header means signed

Not signed

Empty circle means the signature has not been applied yet

Managing Signatures

Engineers’ signatures are stored on their user profile. If an engineer needs to redo their signature (for example, they changed their name), they can delete it from their profile settings and draw a new one next time they sign a certificate.

Secure by design

Your signature is stored securely and encrypted. It can only be used when you explicitly tap Sign on a certificate. No one else can use your signature.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I sign from the web app?

Currently, signing is only available on the iOS app. Web app signing is planned for a future update.

What if I draw my signature wrong?

Tap Clear on the signature canvas to erase and try again before saving. If you already saved it, delete it from your profile settings and redraw it next time you sign.

Can I sign on behalf of someone else?

No. Each user signs with their own stored signature. The system records which user signed and when — this cannot be overridden.

Does the client need to sign too?

Client signatures are separate and can be collected on-site. The certificate tracks inspector and client signatures independently.
